Train2Work Academy is a voluntary not-for-profit, community-based training provider with a three-Star Rating on the LDA’s London Observatory and extensive experience of training, subcontracting and managing projects within welfare-to-work programmes.
Our mission is ‘equipping learners with the knowledge and training required to stand on their own feet and to get back to work’
We specialise in training ethnic minorities and refugees and helping them back to work. We do this by addressing jobseekers’ barriers to employment including language difficulties, sourcing childcare for single parents, confidence and practical experience associated with a lack of UK experience, and transferring overseas qualifications and experience.
We specialise in training short courses such as: Functional skills in Mathematics, ICT, ESOL, Employability Training, CSCS Health & Safety Training, CSCS Card, SIA Security Door Supervision II, CCTV Training, Food Safety in Catering II, Principles of Cleaning II, Health & Safety at Work II, Health & Social Care, Childcare and Customer Service.
Train2Work Academy engages as a delivery partner with a variety of Welfare to work providers, Councils, Children’s Centres, Housing Associations, Community Organisations, Training Providers and colleges offering them a controlled, safeguarded and transparent training and recruitment journey for their participants. Working on behalf of large employers, we look to add value to your organisation’s services by not just providing a vacancy but a recruitment package which equips the learners with the knowledge and training needed to gain sustainable employment with our established employers.
Working with TNG, we provided CSCS and SIA Training for the 2012 Olympics. We also worked with Haringey Council to provide CSCS training as part of the Inclusive Learning Campus construction contract on Broadwater Farm Construction with Mulalley. We have an outstanding track record in helping our participants back to work.
Train2Work Academy was one of the partners delivering London Councils’ ESF-funded North London Pledge 3 (NLP3) across Haringey, Enfield and Waltham Forest. Our aims are to engage workless and relatively socially disengaged, or “economically inactive”, residents assess barriers to finding and retaining paid employment and agreeing an action plan to progress into sustainable work or further education. The action plans include one-to-one employment support with a Train2Work Academy Employment Adviser, IAG including signposting to other council and frontline support services that might help participants overcome barriers, employability support, job brokerage and in-work support for at least six months. As part of the NLP3 project, Train2Work Academy has delivered accredited training courses across the three boroughs on behalf of the partnership. Train2Work Academy delivers the following short courses: Future Proof – Money Wise Course, Employability Training Level 1, Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction Environment and CIBT Health & Safety Training for CSCS cards, SIA Security Door Supervision Level II, SIA-Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Training, Food Safety in Catering II, Principles of Cleaning II, Health & Safety at Work II, Health & Social Care II, Childcare II or II, and Customer Service II.
Currently, Train2Work Academy is also working in partnership with MI Skills Development Centre, College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CHENEL) and East London Advanced Technology Training (ELATT) helping to deliver their employment and skills programmes.
